Secrete usage of xjview: Creating a mask based on anatomy

22 sec read

Many users have created masks from a T-test image; xjView also allows you to create a mask based anatomy. Say, if you want to create a mask of Amygdala, how to do that?

(You need to use xjview 8.10. 1 min video demo at http://youtu.be/31q_6jumhhM)

1. launch xjview without any argument
2. don’t open any images
3. select an anatomical region (say Amygdala) in the box right to “Overlay” button
4. xjview will relaunch, and amygdala is shown
5. click menu “File -> Save current image as mask” to save a mask file

  1. Dear Cui, I have tried the method you mentioned above. How can I achieve a mask file with dimensions 91*91*109?

  2. @sophia
I am not sure about this dimension. In the beginning of xjview.m you will find you have a few options of M and DIM. There is one to produce 91x109x 91

  3. Dear Mr.Cui,
I need to write a script to save a contrast image as mask. Could you please give me a suggestion about how to wite it using xjview functions?
